Airtel Revises Postpaid Plans, Adds Free Annual International Roaming Benefit

New Delhi, Oct 7: Bharti Airtel is set to revise its postpaid plans from October 8, 2026, with monthly tariffs increasing by ₹50 across the new offerings. Along with the price revision, the telecom operator is introducing an annual complimentary international roaming benefit for eligible postpaid customers.

Under the revised plans, customers will receive one five-day international roaming package every year. The package will include 5GB of data, 60 minutes of outgoing calls, 25 outgoing SMS and free incoming SMS.

Customers will have the flexibility to activate the roaming benefit when required, allowing them to use it during an international trip instead of within a fixed period.

The benefit will also be available to eligible connections under Airtel family postpaid plans, with each qualifying SIM receiving one complimentary international roaming package annually.

The revised postpaid offerings will continue to provide existing benefits such as unlimited data and calling, along with entertainment subscriptions and other bundled services available on select plans.

For existing postpaid subscribers, Airtel will gradually transition customers to the nearest corresponding revised plan. The migration is expected to be completed within a month.

The tariff revision comes as telecom operators continue to focus on strengthening average revenue per user (ARPU) while expanding the range of premium services offered to customers. Higher-value bundled plans are increasingly becoming an important part of the industry’s strategy as operators invest in network infrastructure, technology and digital services.

For customers, the additional ₹50 monthly cost will need to be considered against the new benefits. The annual international roaming package may offer greater value to frequent overseas travellers, while customers who rarely travel internationally may continue to focus primarily on data, calling and entertainment benefits.

Airtel’s latest move also reflects the broader evolution of India’s telecom market, where operators are increasingly combining connectivity with services such as international roaming, entertainment and other digital offerings to create more comprehensive postpaid packages.

The revised Airtel postpaid plans will take effect from October 8, 2026.
