The campaign, spearheaded by the BJP Yuva Morcha, aims to strengthen the party’s connection with Generation Z by organising interactive programmes across colleges, universities and grassroots-level institutions.

The campaign strategy was finalised during a meeting at the state BJP headquarters, attended by the Yuva Morcha’s organisational in-charge, co-in-charge and state president.

As part of the initiative, party representatives will visit educational institutions and hold discussions with students on issues such as national unity, federalism and national interests. The programme will also seek to address what the party describes as misinformation surrounding these subjects.

Various competitions and engagement activities are also planned to provide young people with opportunities to showcase their knowledge, creativity and talents.

Beyond college campuses, the Yuva Morcha will extend the programme to panchayats and mandals across the state. These interactions are intended to understand local challenges, gather suggestions from young people and encourage their participation in organisational activities.

The initiative comes at a time when student politics in Odisha has gained renewed momentum following the resumption of student union elections on October 15 after an eight-year gap.

The electoral results reflected a competitive political landscape on campuses. While candidates backed by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) secured victories in several institutions, the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD), the student wing of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), also registered notable wins, including at Ravenshaw University and Rama Devi Women’s University.

Against this backdrop, the BJP’s Yuva Samvad initiative is seen as an effort to expand its presence among students and young voters across Odisha.

The campaign’s impact will depend on how effectively the interactions address issues that matter to young people, particularly employment opportunities, quality education, skill development and career prospects.
