1 Finance Secures EU Patent for MoneySign, Expanding Its Financial Assessment Framework Across India, the US and Europe

Mumbai, Aug 19: 1 Finance, a holistic personal finance advisory and wealth-tech firm, has secured the European patent for its proprietary MoneySign financial personality assessment framework, strengthening its global intellectual property portfolio and expanding its behaviour-led approach to personal finance.

With patents already secured in India and the US, the EU patent marks another step in 1 Finance’s ambition to build a globally relevant framework for understanding financial behaviour. MoneySign® combines behavioural psychology and financial decision-making principles to understand how individuals approach money, risk, saving and investing.

Unlike conventional financial planning that begins with numbers, MoneySign® focuses on the person behind the numbers. Drawing from the Big Five or OCEAN personality model, it maps behavioural traits to financial decision-making, enabling advice to be better aligned with an individual’s personality, circumstances and goals.

Keval Bhanushali, CEO & Co-founder, 1 Finance said,

“Financial success is 80% behaviour and 20% math, yet 80% of the conversation in this industry is still about the math. At 1 Finance, hyper-personalization is our answer to that gap. No one stays the course on borrowed conviction. When a strategy is built around a person’s natural tendencies, staying invested stops being an act of discipline and becomes the path of least resistance and that is where financial well-being actually comes from.”

The development follows 1 Finance’s recent grant of a Financial Behaviour Score patent in India, further strengthening its focus on the behavioural dimensions of money management. Together, these innovations support the company’s core philosophy of delivering hyper-personalised personal finance advisory.

Animesh Hardia, Partner, 1 Finance added,

“Financial decisions are not always rational; they are shaped by behaviour, emotions and individual biases. Bringing behavioural economics into financial planning allows us to move beyond a one-size-fits-all approach and make advice genuinely personal.”

MoneySign® forms the behavioural layer of 1 Finance’s holistic advisory framework spanning investments, insurance, taxes, loans, retirement, income and expenses, and will and estate planning. It is available through the 1 Finance app and serves as an input into its personalised financial planning process.

With patent protection across India, the US and the EU, 1 Finance aims to further develop MoneySign® as a globally relevant framework for understanding financial behaviour and enabling more personalised financial well-being and peace of mind.
