New Delhi, Aug 25: IRHPL one of the fastest-growing multi-diversified retail groups has relaunched Toycraft at Terminal 2 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, with a significantly expanded store that goes well beyond its earlier footprint at the same terminal. The relaunched Toycraft is built around an experiential retail format, designed not just for families looking to pick up a gift before a flight, but for young travellers and children who deserve a reason to pause and genuinely enjoy a space in one of India’s busiest airports.
Toycraft is IRHPL‘s concept store for children, offering a curated range of toys, games, stationery, and decor for every age group from newborns through to 14 years and beyond. The new store carries a selection of renowned brands, including Hamster London, alongside a broad assortment of gifting essentials chosen for families on the move, parents looking for something thoughtful before or after a flight, and grandparents who know better than to show up empty-handed.
At the centre of Toycraft‘s new experiential design are two signature installations that turn the store into a destination rather than a stop.
The first is a live, playable piano installed on the store floor near the entrance. Unlike a conventional display, the piano is designed for passengers to interact with and play, with children especially encouraged to engage with it. With no barriers or restrictions, it becomes a natural point of attraction, drawing passengers into the store and creating a memorable experience. In an airport environment, where children are often expected to sit still and wait, the installation gives them an opportunity to actively engage and enjoy their surroundings.
The second is a live rotating solar system model, featuring planets that physically revolve around a central point. Designed to capture attention from across the store, the installation goes beyond being a visual attraction. It encourages children to pause, observe and learn, while also giving parents an opportunity to engage with them around something educational and interesting. The moving planets make the concept interactive and visually engaging, turning learning into an experience rather than simply a display.
Together, these two installations make Toycraft more than a place to shop. They create an environment where children can explore, play and learn, giving families a reason to pause and engage with the store. The result is a retail experience that children are likely to remember not just for what they bought, but for what they experienced inside.
Mr. Naresh Sharma, CEO at IRHPL (group of companies) says, “Terminal 2 at IGI Delhi is one of India’s busiest domestic departure terminals, with a consistent and high-volume footfall of families, business travellers with children in tow, and grandparents making their way to or from a visit. The Toycraft relaunch is placed directly in that flow, offering a gift-ready, family-friendly stop that serves both the spontaneous purchase and the more considered one.”
The store’s assortment is designed for the airport context: age-sorted, easy to navigate, and stocked with brands that a parent or grandparent recognises and trusts. Whether the need is a last-minute birthday gift, a travel activity for the flight ahead, or simply a treat for a child who has been admirably patient through check-in, the new Toycraft is equipped to deliver.
Toycraft is part of IRHPL‘s expanding portfolio of proprietary retail concepts, which now includes La Mourde Choc, the premium confectionery destination, and Lumière, the curated luxury eyewear store, both also operating at T2. The Toycraft relaunch reflects the same philosophy that runs through IRHPL‘s approach to airport retail: categories chosen with purpose, formats built around genuine customer experience, and a consistent effort to turn a terminal into something more than a waiting area.
For airport retail, where the temptation is to optimise purely for impulse purchase, IRHPL has consistently chosen a different approach. Toycraft is the latest expression of that choice, and in a terminal where families travel through every day, a children’s store that actually gives children something to do is the kind of idea that earns its footprint. The relaunched Toycraft is now open at Terminal 2 Departures, Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
