Bhubaneswar, Mar 02: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) reaffirmed its commitment to employee welfare by providing 80 new appointments under the Dependent Employment Scheme of the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA) at a special ceremony held at its headquarters.

The appointments were granted to eligible dependents in accordance with NCWA provisions, reflecting ECL’s ongoing dedication to supporting the families of its employees. The ceremony was graced by Shri Gunjan Kumar Sinha, Director (HR), who congratulated the appointees and urged them to uphold the organization’s core values. Addressing the gathering, he said:
“Together, let us work with integrity, dedication, and innovation to build a brighter nation. You are now part of a proud legacy—serve with commitment, uphold our values, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the organization and the nation.”
Providing employment to dependents under the NCWA has been a longstanding practice of Coal India Limited (CIL) and ECL, aimed at offering financial stability and support to families of deceased employees. This initiative underscores the organization’s people-centric approach and its unwavering commitment to employee welfare.
The event was also attended by Shri Dibyajyoti Ghosh, HoD (Employment); Shri Nazrul Islam, HoD (Wage Board Establishment), HR Managers from various Areas, along with executives and staff from both Areas and Headquarters.
