CAPTION MG Windsor completed the journey from Leh to Kanyakumari, covering 3,757 km in 83 hours

The journey was undertaken by Mountain Goat, a group of passionate motorsports professionals, across diverse terrains—from the high-altitude, rugged landscapes of Ladakh to the tropical southern coast. The MG Windsor demonstrated reliability, impressive range, and consistent performance under extreme conditions, completing the trip with 20 charging stops. This feat dispels myths around long EV journeys and highlights India’s growing fast-charging infrastructure.

The expedition was supported by the e-Hub by MG app, which connects users to over 13,000 EV charging points across India through partnerships with 36 leading charge-point operators.

Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said;

“Completing this diverse expedition in record time is a bold testament to India’s confidence in electric mobility and supporting infrastructure. It also highlights MG Windsor’s reliability and performance across some of the country’s most challenging terrains. The future of transportation is clean mobility, and JSW MG Motor India continues to lead this transition.”

Sanjay Bhola, Adjudicator, Asia Book of Records & India Book of Records, commented;

“Heartiest congratulations to the team for setting this prestigious record.”

The MG Windsor features a 52.9 kWh lithium-ion battery with a certified range of up to 449 km per charge and supports fast charging for efficient long-distance travel. Since its launch in September 2024, the Windsor has become India’s best-selling EV, recently surpassing 50,000 sales—the fastest milestone for any EV in India.

The car combines a futuristic ‘AeroGlide’ design with business-class comfort, featuring ‘Aero Lounge’ seats reclining to 135 degrees and a 15.6” GRANDVIEW Touch Display for an intuitive driving experience. In May 2025, JSW MG Motor India expanded its lineup with the MG Windsor PRO variant, featuring an extended battery, and recently launched the limited-edition MG Windsor Inspire at the residence of Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India.
