Bengaluru, July 23: Have you ever tried a Chowmein Samosa? Or perhaps a Shahi Samosa filled with rich dry fruits and khoya? Moving beyond the classic aloo filling, Bikanervala‘s flagship outlet in Jayanagar today started its week-long Samosa Carnival, a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to celebrate the brand’s signature savoury offerings. Timed with Bengaluru’s monsoon, the carnival which will be on till July 28th, invites food lovers to discover five distinctive interpretations of one of India’s most iconic snacks, alongside the authentic North Indian chaats that have become synonymous with the Bikanervala brand.

While Bikanervala has long been recognised for its sweets and chaats, the carnival shines the spotlight on a savoury range that has quietly remained a favourite among customers over the years. Through this unique culinary celebration, the brand aims to encourage visitors to look beyond the traditional samosa and experience the diversity, creativity and craftsmanship behind its signature recipes.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pramod Murarka, Director, Bikanervala, Bangalore, said,
“Most people associate Bikanervala with our sweets and chaats, but our savoury range is equally rich and diverse. Through the Samosa Carnival, we wanted people to discover flavours beyond the traditional aloo samosa. Whether it is our Indo-Chinese-inspired Chowmein Samosa, the indulgent Shahi Samosa with dry fruits and khoya, or our Paneer Matar and Gobi Samosas, every variety reflects our effort to blend authentic taste with culinary innovation. Bengaluru’s monsoon provides the perfect setting to enjoy these timeless favourites and we look forward to welcoming customers to experience them.”
Five Samosas, Five Distinctive Fillings
The carnival features five signature samosa varieties, each offering a unique flavour profile. While the Aloo Samosa stays true to the timeless recipe with its classic spiced potato filling, the Paneer Matar Samosa combines soft cottage cheese and green peas for a wholesome bite. The Chowmein Samosa brings an unexpected Indo-Chinese twist with stir-fried noodles and vegetables wrapped inside crisp pastry, while the Shahi Samosa offers a rich filling of dry fruits and khoya inspired by royal flavours. Completing the line-up is the Gobi Samosa, packed with flavourful spiced cauliflower that gives a fresh take on the traditional favourite.
Beyond Samosas: A Celebration of North Indian Chaats
Complementing the savoury spread are five of Bikanervala‘s most-loved chaats, Raj Kachori, Pani Puri, Dahi Bhalla, Dahi Puri and Bhel Puri, offering customers a complete North Indian street-food experience. Specially curated samosa-and-chaat combo meals have also been introduced for the carnival, encouraging visitors to sample multiple flavours in one meal while exploring the breadth of Bikanervala‘s savoury menu.
The carnival has been thoughtfully curated around Bengaluru’s monsoon season, when steaming-hot snacks and flavour-packed chaats become the perfect comfort food. From the crisp golden pastry of freshly prepared samosas to the vibrant medley of tangy chutneys, creamy yoghurt, crisp sev and fresh garnishes that define North Indian chaats, the festival recreates the nostalgia of bustling street-food markets while bringing these flavours into a warm and welcoming dining experience.
Strengthening Bengaluru’s Love for Authentic North Indian Cuisine
The Samosa Carnival celebrates recipes that have always been part of Bikanervala‘s culinary heritage. By presenting these familiar favourites through a dedicated week-long festival, the brand seeks to create greater awareness about its extensive savoury offerings and encourage customers to rediscover dishes that have delighted generations.
As Bikanervala continues to strengthen its presence in Bengaluru, initiatives such as the Samosa Carnival reflect the brand’s commitment to preserving India’s rich culinary traditions while introducing customers to innovative flavours and memorable food experiences that continue to evolve with changing tastes.
