Bhopal, Sep 1: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved a series of development measures involving around Rs 41,000 crore, with a focus on rural development, infrastructure, dairy, higher education and farmer support.
The decisions, taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, are aimed at strengthening the state’s economy while creating better opportunities for rural communities, students and businesses.
A major allocation of around Rs 29,619 crore has been approved for the implementation of the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), providing a significant push to rural development and livelihood opportunities.
The Cabinet has also approved around Rs 2,973 crore for milk producers, including nearly Rs 1,547 crore to expand processing capacity for dairy products. The move is expected to strengthen the dairy value chain and create greater opportunities for milk producers and related businesses.
Education and technology have also received attention. The government has approved the creation of three new Technology and Skills Universities to improve access to technical education across different regions of the state.
The proposed institutions include the Central India University of Technology and Skills in Bhopal, Malwa University of Technology in Ujjain and Mahakashal University of Technology and Skills in Jabalpur. Together, they are expected to expand access to technology-focused education and help prepare young people for emerging job opportunities.
The Cabinet has also taken steps to strengthen public health infrastructure, approving funds for the maintenance of departmental assets, machinery and equipment. Additional posts have been cleared for newly created districts to improve the delivery of public services.
For farmers, the Cabinet has increased the procurement of summer moong at the support price from 25 per cent to 60 per cent of production. The decision is intended to provide greater market support to farmers and reduce concerns over the sale of their produce.
The overall package brings together rural development, agriculture, education, healthcare and infrastructure, reflecting the state’s effort to support growth across different sections of the economy.
The investment is also expected to generate wider economic activity by creating demand for construction, services, technology, transport and other allied sectors. Strengthening infrastructure and technical education could further improve the state’s ability to attract businesses and create skilled employment.
The Cabinet’s decisions underline Madhya Pradesh’s focus on combining infrastructure development with stronger rural livelihoods, modern education and technology-driven growth.
The government expects these measures to improve public services, support farmers and milk producers, expand educational opportunities and contribute to long-term economic development across the state.
